5 ways to remind yourself that London is an incredible place to live

Ask most London professionals when they last took the time to explore a little of their hometown, and they would probably struggle to remember.

And yet, as we know, there is so much on the doorstep in London to really inspire.

If you find yourself with just a couple of hours between meetings in the City, instead of burying your head in a laptop and latte, here are a few ideas to refresh, rejuvenate and remind yourself that London is an incredible place to live.

  1. The British Library - spend a few minutes wandering among works of genius such as the notebooks of Leonardo da Vinci, religious texts from across the world including The Ma’il Qur’an, the Library's oldest Qur'an manuscript. Or look at original handwritten manuscripts from the Brontë sisters, and stand close to the works of musical maestros from Mozart to McCartney. There's no cost to go in - these artefacts belong to you and me.

  2. London pop-up art galleries offer a quick cultural and creative fix in 30 minutes or less. Check out the Twist Museum at Oxford Circus for an illusion to blow your mind or the large scale David Hockney projection room at Lightroom in Kings Cross. Or how about the immersive Frameless art experience at Marble Arch? There is something for everyone on Fever HERE.

  3. Escape the Boardroom for the outdoors and visit the pocket garden at 120 Fenchurch St or Postman’s Park close to St Paul's Cathedral. Then, there's the tranquil oak-tree-lined estate of Gray’s Inn Gardens dating back to 1608, the tiny St John's Cloister Garden, just across from Farringdon Station and the City’s newest park at London Wall Place.

  4. Find a quiet reading nook at one of THESE hidden gems around London.
